Scrap Metal in June
This month, most steel markets are showing sideways to slightly down trends, depending on region and grade. However, export markets still seem strong.
Aluminum and Copper scrap accounted for the majority of declines due to reduced demand, however, Lead and Nickel are also down due to overseas markets pulling back. Stainless steel demand is also falling because buyers are not willing to buy amid downward movement. Meanwhile, insulated and lower grade copper wire products have actually strengthened in the U.S. Market.
Overall we are still above where we were last year at this time, and hopeful to see some positive movement in the markets moving forward. Be sure to check our websites frequently for the most up-to-date prices and as always reach out to your buyers for specific questions.
